1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Information you provide: This includes data you input while using the app, such as impulse moments, strategies, and journal entries.

• Device information: We collect device-specific information such as your device model, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

• Usage data: Information about how you use our application, including features you access and time spent on the app.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services

• Personalize your experience with the app

• Analyze usage patterns to enhance functionality

• Develop new features and services

3. AI Processing and Third-Party Sharing

Impulse's coach is powered by AI. To generate its replies, we send the content of your sessions to AI providers in the United States that run the coach on our behalf: OpenAI, L.L.C. and Anthropic, PBC, which run the language models, and Eleven Labs Inc., which handles voice calls. We ask for your permission before any of this is sent, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings.

What we send to these providers:

• The messages you type in a session, and the audio of your voice when you talk to the coach.

• The behaviors you track, the notes and logs you add, and the plans and tactics you are working on, so that the coach has context for its replies.

• Your anonymous account identifier. We never send your name, email address or phone number, because Impulse does not ask for them.

These providers process this content only to generate the coach's replies and voice and return them to Impulse, under their data processing terms. Your content is not used to train their models. Voice recordings are not kept, and call transcripts are deleted from ElevenLabs within a day. If you do not consent, the AI coach is unavailable and the rest of Impulse continues to work.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with any other third party for their own purposes.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored in Firebase with industry-standard security protocols.

5. Anonymous Usage

If you choose to use Impulse anonymously, we still collect non-personally identifiable information to provide and improve our services. This data is associated with a randomly generated identifier rather than personal information like your name or email.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can also request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
